Cassandra’s silky-smooth voice is like no other. From songs about heartbreak, love, and life in general, she showcases her gifts through her music. “It may sound cliché, but I write music because I love to. Writing helps me release feelings that I’ve suppressed or better help me express what I am going through. I also love writing about people’s circumstances and help them say what they really want to say.” Watching her oldest sister perform, at a young age, gave Cassandra the confidence that she needed and fueled her to take that next step into her music career. “Her and my brother-in-law bought me my first guitar; I remember my sister telling me she was only going to teach me three chords and I had to figure the rest out on my own lol. I was so determined though.” Through drive and determination, Cassandra even began teaching herself how to engineer her own music. “When I first started teaching myself guitar, I knew I wanted to start putting music out, but I had no idea where to go to, so I decided to teach myself how to record at home.” Her older songs on SoundCloud are all engineered by Cassandra, even her song “Wait”, which has reached over 46,000 streams, was engineered by this R&B artist. Cassandra’s willingness to keep going has helped her win several singing competitions, receive call backs from the producers of American Idol, opportunities to sing in front of the mayor, and more.
