Raised in the small town of Millbrook, Alabama, Latrice Young transforms pain into purpose through music. Her upbringing, shaped by trauma and deception, became the foundation for her art—first through writing, then through sound. Music emerged as the natural extension of her storytelling, serving as the soundtrack to the books she wrote about her life.

Under her artistic persona Aria Monroe, Latrice creates music that is led by spirit rather than genre. Rooted in R&B, her sound is guided by emotion, intuition, and truth—whatever feels right and connects deeply to her testimony. Her work Inside Enemy Lines marks a pivotal milestone, acting as the musical companion to her book of the same name and launching her multi-book memoir soundtrack project, I Am the Evidence.
Through her music, Latrice delivers a message of resilience: that even after enduring deep trauma, it’s possible to keep your heart and protect your soul. Her art stands as proof that darkness does not have to define who you become.
