JocQ is an R&B artist, songwriter, and storyteller whose music lives at the intersection of intimacy, vulnerability, passion, and emotional illusion. Born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in Houston, Texas, JocQ has spent years crafting a sound rooted in heartfelt storytelling, soulful melodies, and cinematic experiences that invite listeners deeper into his world. Music has always been a foundational part of his life. From singing in church and school performances to being surrounded by music within his family from birth, artistry became less of a hobby and more of a calling. During the 2020 lockdowns, JocQ made the decision to fully pursue music professionally, using that period of isolation to sharpen his songwriting and develop the emotional honesty that would soon become a signature within his work.

Music has always been a foundational part of his life. From singing in church and school performances to being surrounded by music within his family from birth, artistry became less of a hobby and more of a calling. During the 2020 lockdowns, JocQ made the decision to fully pursue music professionally, using that period of isolation to sharpen his songwriting and develop the emotional honesty that would soon become a signature within his work. In February 2022, he released his debut single “Get Back to Love,” introducing listeners to a style of R&B centered around real emotion, reflection, and connection. The release quickly resonated with audiences, generating thousands of streams and earning praise from listeners who connected deeply with its themes of love, healing, and redemption.

JocQ continued building momentum with the release of his debut album, *Inamorato Book I*, in 2023. The 9-track project showcased his ability to blend romance, heartbreak, sensuality, and vulnerability into immersive listening experiences. Songs such as “9-5,” “Don’t Fall Asleep,” and “Get Back to Love” helped establish his growing identity within Houston’s independent R&B scene while introducing audiences to the emotional depth that defines his artistry.

Now entering a new creative chapter, JocQ is preparing for the release of his upcoming single “Luna Deep,” a cinematic and emotionally immersive record that further expands his signature blend of intimacy, desire, vulnerability, and atmosphere. With refined visuals, layered storytelling, and a deeper sonic direction, JocQ continues to create experiences that blur the line between what we feel, what we see, and what we choose to believe.
